Reducing Chronic Pain and Migraines Headaches with Ka Moua, APRN, NP-C

By Ana Soulia, PT, DPT | Missoula Health and Wellness Conversations

Today on Missoula Health and Wellness Conversations I got to sit down with an old friend, Ka Moua. Ka is a Montana native who enjoys the outdoors, cooking and gardening. She currently works full time treating addiction but has also launched her own business, Polaris Wellness and Aesthetics. At Polaris she helps relieve chronic pain with a variety of injection therapies including PRP, trigger point and Botox for Migraine.

On This Episode We Discuss:

  • How Ka got into treating chronic pain and fusing this with aesthetics.

  • The common goal of improving function and quality of life for chronic pain patients and the variety of treatments she offers at Polaris Wellness and Aesthetics.

  • PRP (Plasma Rich Protein) injections, how they are different than steroid injections and when she might choose one over the other.

  • Botox injections for treatment of chronic migraine and how these treatments are covered by most insurance.

  • Trigger point injections for easing pain and muscle tension and the addition of Percutaneous Electrical Stimulation to enhance results.

  • The natural choice for Ka to go mobile with her business based on her background in home health and hospice.

  • Addiction treatment and the common thread of chronic pain and unprocessed trauma.

  • The value of collaboration with other providers with different expertise.
